TradeLink Systems is a certified partner in the Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism. C-TPAT is a government-business program designed to strengthen the international supply chain and U.S. border security. It’s a voluntary initiative in which U.S. importers, carriers, consolidators, licensed customs brokers and other supply chain business partners document and verify the integrity of their security practices.
TradeLink encourages all of our importer-clients and business partners to have security procedures in place at each step in their supply chains. From the point of origin of the import, such as a foreign manufacturer’s facility, and place of packing, proper sealing and inspections ensure the integrity of shipping containers and trailers between destinations.
For business partners involved in the packing and transport of items, TradeLink strongly recommends following CBP’s Security Guidelines for Containers and Trailers, using high security seals that meet or exceed the current PAS ISO 17712 standards, and having procedures in place for recognizing and reporting compromised seals to CBP or another appropriate authority.
